Strong Finished for Brawn Mercedes

The season opening of the Formula one in Melbourne Australia won by the new F1 team the Brawn Mercedes. Jensen Button took the checquered flag under safety car condition in a race that full of drama, and Ruben Barrichello took second place finished as a debut in F1 racing in Melbourne Grand Prix.

The Brawn team's front row qualifying confirmed a very unusual-looking grid on Saturday, particularly as World Champion Lewis Hamilton started the race at the back following a five-place penalty for a gearbox change. Toyota elected to start its cars from the pit lane after Glock and Trulli were also relegated for running illegal, flexible rear wing elements during qualifying. Button pulled away while his teammates Ruben Barrichelo settled in the seventh place, Button then had stretched by a large four seconds lead at the end of the first lap. Followed by Vettel and Massa at the end of the lap, while Barrichelo still battled for the fourth spot with Kubica. At the fourth lap of the race safety car was deployed as Nazuki Nakajima's Williams lost control and having a heavy impact with the wall and took off the car's front end.

Lewis Hamilton of Mclaren Mercedes from 18th at the start, eleven at the end of the second lap. Hamilton charged at the late stages of the race and finished strong at the third position. While both of the Ferrari's cars having a frustrating day with Massa and later followed by Raikkonen retiring their cars at the garage and was an another disastrous Grand Prix for the team. The race was brought to a dramatic close as the battle for second place intensified with just a handful of laps remaining; jostling for second, a collision between Kubica and Vettel at Turn 3 saw both cars inlocking wheels and ending up on the grass before each having their own accidents at Turn 5 as a result of the damage done, ending their races just three laps from home. With the safety car deployed, the German circulated with an errant left-front wheel, only to pull off on the approach to Turn 11 a lap later. With the safety car deployed again, an off for Jarno Trulli at Turn 15 resulted in the Toyota driver then retaking his podium position from Lewis Hamilton - with the race still under safety conditions - which is likely to cause a stir. While the race winner Jensen Button finished the race with a wide margin over the second placed fellow Brawn Ruben Barrichello.
