I'm really glad that my idle Gilbert Arenas is back in the line up of the Washington Wizards, for almost a year that he didn't play because of the knee injury that he got last year. And in his absence last season and almost a season this year made his team also struggling as they are on the bottom of the south east standings with the record of 17 wins with 58 losses.
Last Friday, I watched the game between the Washington Wizards and the Detroit Pistons, his first game since he injured his knee, he do played 28 minutes Arenas dime up the Pistons, getting lay ups and dunks for teammates, and despite going 3 for 12 on the floor and scoring 15 points through his usual array of treys, drives, step back jumpers and free throws. I can see it that he still not in his regular shape as he got blown by Rodney Stuckey and not putting pressure on the ball leading to a six points total open jumpers by Rip Hamilton.
And at the last seconds of the game, where the Wizards down by three Arenas drifted ever so slightly to the left when receiving an inbounds pass instead of shooting the gap straight up the middle, where two teammates were building a wall for him to have an open look at a 3-pointer. That allowed the trailing Hamilton to give a foul. "The best part of this is that I actually stuck to the program of rehabbing," Arenas said afterward. "My leg is 10 times stronger than before ... at the end of the day, I had to find out where [my knee] is at." That's Gilbert's statement after the game.
Arenas is really important in the team of Wizards, this previous seasons with his leadership together with Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison they took the Wizards in the playoffs. I'm hoping that next season will be a great season for Gilbert and for the Wizards franchise, and his knee injury will totally healed. Welcome back Agent Zero!.
